UCAS Convention, Exeter
Year 12s from The King Alfred School enjoyed a trip to the UCAS Convention at Westpoint Arena in Exeter today (Tuesday 20 March). Staff and ambassadors from all the universities across the UK were on hand to field a range of questions from the students: What industrial placements do you have? Can I study abroad for a year? What are the career pathways open to me after graduation? The National Apprenticeship Service were also promoting the new and exciting degree apprenticeships where students spend 4 days a week with a company and receive an income and 1 day at university without having to pay fees. Year 12 students are now starting to prepare their personal statements for university and many are considering completing the Extended Project Qualification in order to make their applications more competitive.
